Georg Schumy – A son of Arnoldstein

After more than thirty years, there is again the opportunity to admire a larger number of works by the painter and merchant from Gailitz. On the occasion of the anniversary of the market survey, immerse yourself in the past in this exhibition with a focus on views of the Arnoldstein community and the surrounding area, like Georg Schumy in his about 50 year olds, productive and multifaceted artistic creation.

A famous son of Arnoldstein is also commemorated as part of the jubilee "100 years of market elevation".: by the painter Georg Schumy, whose works still until 25. 9. 2022 can be visited in the Knights Arnold Hall of the Arnoldstein monastery ruins. The pictures on display are all loans from private individuals and focus on Schumy's immediate homeland. He dedicated a special phase of his creative work to landscape paintings, in the center of which the Dobratsch with its many different facets can often be seen. The monastery ruins are also a frequent motif, as are various views of the villages in the Lower Gail Valley. Josef Grilz-Seger BA is responsible as curator, with the active support of Prof. Bernhard Wolfsgruber and Martin Wiegele (Klosterruine Arnoldstein) an extraordinary and worth seeing exhibition was created.
